The Vancouver Island Green Business Certification (VIGBC) certifies local businesses that that embrace green business practices and are reducing their impact on the environment. The Vancouver Island Green Business Certification program includes education, verification and promotion; and encourages local businesses to integrate their environmental values with their workplace practices towards the great goal of creating a values-based economy.
Agenda was certified “GREEN”, and joins a group of only 10 local retail businesses who have achieved the highest level of certification available.
“Vancouver Island Green Business Certification provides a credible evaluation of environmental business practices, helping them legitimize and promote their sustainability efforts.” said program manager Lee Johnson. “The certification has been built with internationally-recognized best practices and will start with small-to-medium-sized enterprises across the Capital Regional District, with plans for expansion in other regions on Vancouver Island in coming years.”
“Retailers have an obligation to influence consumer attitudes regarding sustainable purchasing.” said Neville Grigg, President & CEO of Agenda Office Interiors. “Agenda is leading by example, showing that we can protect our natural environment and support our local community while we promote the local economy.”
